For Sparwan, at Axome
Industrial PC configurator
A configurator to build an industrial PC from a chassis, under slot and stock constraints, then a Shopify Function that creates one order line per component.
20 unit tests Vitest tests covering the 2 Shopify Functions of the checkout app.
4 Shopify extensions 2 Functions and 2 UI extensions (quote banner at checkout, invoice button), all written by me.
The brief
Let professionals build a custom industrial PC from a chassis product page, then order it with one line per component.
The challenge
A single chassis line has to become one line per component, at the right price and in the currency shown to the customer. The configurator respects the M.2 and PCI slots of the chassis, blocks out-of-stock components and caps quantities at the available stock.
What I built
- Configurator as a Web Component: slots and component catalogs driven by metaobjects and metafields.
- M.2 and PCI slot budget, out-of-stock blocking, saved choices, PC shown as an accordion in the cart.
- Cart Transform Function: the chassis line becomes one line per component, with currency conversion.
- B2B quote request (payment Function, checkout banner, cart button) and customer account invoice button.
- Technical product page: tabs, specs and comparison, offer carousel, sticky add-to-cart bar.
- Mega menu with a sidebar and design system sections built from Figma.
